#so I would like to take a moment to speculate on Spike #because through this entire episode he has no soul #but his first reaction to finding out he is a vampire is to think #hey #I must be a good guy #while Angel in spin the bottle #who has a soul #goes very dark when he finds out #and I think this has a lot to do with the fact that Angel/Liam is much more prone to violence #while Spike is a big softy #and also I think that a huge factor in Spike’s more violent actions #is that no one ever believes in him #no one wants him when he is human #and he’s constantly bullied by Angelus as a vamp #and then by the Scoobies once he gets the chip #Spike didn’t become a champion because he had a soul #he became a champion because Buffy believed he could be one #btvs
